Who Qualifies for a subsidy?

In order to know if you qualify for a partial or full childcare subsidy, please use the online calculator here. Once you have established your eligibility, follow the instruction provided on the Region of Waterloo Child Care and Early Learning Services website to fill out and send your application. They will guide you through the process and advise you when your application has been completed and if it has been approved. They will also let you know what portion of your childcare fees will be subsidized.

When Should I Apply for the Subsidy Program?

As soon as possible! Please note that the application process for the subsidy program may take several weeks/months depending on the volume of application received. You can apply for a subsidy ahead of your child's preferred start date in order to ensure there is no delay between your application approval and start date. Contact the region's child care subsidy program to know how many weeks/months before your preferred start date you can apply for the program.

When Can My Child Start at TBM With a Subsidy?

Once your application approved and processed, your case worker will contact TBM directly to advise us of the details of your subsidy. Your child can then start attending our program AFTER your approval is received.

If you chose a start date before your application is approved, you, the parent, are responsible to pay the monthly fees to TBM and may not be able to get reimbursed by the subsidy program. Please speak to your case worker for more information on how the subsidy program operates.
